So I got a tattoo…

There it is! In all of its glory! I am so excited! It looks so good! Yay!

so I found a knitting survey…

This is from Midnight Purls

1. What’s your worst habit relating to your knitting?

I like to start a bunch of projects but never really finish them. I am getting better though…

2. In what specific ways does your knitting make you a better person?

It calms me. I don’t have the urge to kill people when I am knitting…

3. How might you or your life be different if you were suddenly unable to knit?

I would learn how to knit with my feet.

4. If money were no object, what one yarn, and what one tool or gadget would you run out and buy first?

Enough wool to make a sweater. That would be nice…

5. What knitting technique or project type are you most afraid of (if any)? What, specifically, do you fear will happen when you try it?

Lace scares me. I have tried numerous times and I just can’t get the hang of it…

6. Who is/are your knitting hero(es), and why?

Everyone’s blogs that I read. And there are a lot of them.

7. Do you consider knitting, for you personally, a mostly social activity, or a mostly solitary activity?

I am usually knitting by myself. If I do knit with anyone it is my aunt, and that isn’t very often. I might knit around other people but they aren’t knitting. Mostly I knit by myself…

8. Is there a particular regional tradition in knitting that you feel strongly drawn toward (e.g., Fair Isle, Scandinavian, Celtic, Orenburg lace)? Any theories as to why it calls to you?

Hmm…I like cables a lot! If I had more patients I would knit cables more because they are fun. Maybe the Irish in me have something to do with this.

9. If you were a yarn, which yarn would you be?

10. Some statistics:
(a) How many years have passed since you FIRST learned to knit?

About 12 years.

(b) How many total years have you been actively, regularly knitting (i.e., they don’t have to have been in a row)?

About 2.

(c) how many people have you taught to knit?

1 person. My aunt.

(d) Roughly what percentage of your FOs do you give away (to anyone besides yourself, i.e., including your immediate family)

Right now? None. I haven’t given any away. I don’t really feel comfortable with my ability to knit for other people yet….Yet.

11. How often do you KIP (knit in public)? i.e., once a week, once a month, etc. Where do you do it?

I knit in public a lot. If I have a stockinette intense project I will knit on my way to my Psychology class since it is all the way across campus.

12. If a genie granted you one hour to stitch-n-bitch with any one knitter, living or dead, who would you choose and why?

I would love to knit with the girls from Two Black Sheep I love their blog and they just seem like they would be really fun to knit with…

13. What aspect or task in knitting makes you most impatient?

It sounds weird, but the actual knitting part. I hate the waiting process while you are making a project. I like the act of knitting, but I hate the waiting process.

14. What is it about knitting that never lets you get bored with it?

Knowing that when I am done I will have something I can use or wear.

15. Describe how and where you most often do your knitting – where do you sit, what is going on around you, what tools do you use and how are they (dis)organized?

I am usually sitting on my bed, watching TV, with my yarn scattered all over my bed, usually tangled. I use my awesome aluminum Boyd needles. I have found that they are just perfect for me! Mostly, with dpn’s because I bend them and if I need to I can bend them back.

16. Which one person is the recipient of more of your knitting than any other?

ME! Teehee.

17. What’s the oddest thing about your knitting, or yourself as a knitter?

My hands are really rough, so to feel yarn I rub it against my face. It sounds kinda weird and Boyfriend even asked me about it, but I like it.

18. What do you see yourself knitting – if anything – twenty years from now?

I have no idea.

19. If you were stranded on a deserted island and could have only ONE SKEIN of yarn, which yarn would it be and what would you do with it?

Some hemp, so I could make rope so I could do something with it. It always seems like you need rope when on a desert islands.

20. If you were allowed to own only one knitting-related book, which would it be? (you’d be free to browse others, but you couldn’t keep them)

The Knitter’s Companion: Expanded and Updated (The Companion series). This book has helped me a lot!21. Is knitting the new yoga? Why or why not?

If it is being compared in the “trendy, hip thing to do” then, possibly. For it being relaxing, then yes, it is like Yoga. But, I don’t like to think of it that way…

22. What important thing are you trying to put off doing whenever you knit?

Homework mostly. Yeah….Mostly homework.
